Casals Ventilation Solutions Optimize the Coffee Roasting Process at Coopedota
In the coffee industry, every detail influences the quality of the final product. From bean selection to the roasting process, maintaining suitable environmental conditions within the plant is fundamental to ensuring operational efficiency, personnel safety, and coffee quality.

Recently, at Coopedota, an industrial ventilation system was implemented using Casals solutions, integrating HJV axial fans and Stellar Blast centrifugal ceiling fans, with the goal of optimizing air renewal in the roasting plant.
The Importance of Ventilation During Coffee Roasting
The roasting process generates large amounts of heat, smoke, fine particles, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), in addition to the characteristic aroma of freshly roasted coffee.
If these elements are not efficiently removed, they can cause:
* Excessive temperature increases within the plant.
* Accumulation of smoke and odors.
* Deterioration of the work environment.
* Increased wear and tear on equipment and machinery.
* Risks to occupational safety and health.
For this reason, a properly designed ventilation system is essential to maintain a constant flow of fresh air and ensure the efficient extraction of hot and contaminated air.
A comprehensive solution with Casals technology
For this project, two complementary technologies were combined.
HJV Extractors
Casals HJV axial extractors were strategically installed on the walls of the building to introduce and move large volumes of air, promoting adequate renewal of the interior environment.
Thanks to their high airflow and energy efficiency, these units help maintain more comfortable thermal conditions during production hours.

Stellar Blast Extractors
As a complement to the system, Casals Stellar Blast extractors were installed on the roof of the plant.
These units allow for the evacuation of naturally rising hot air, as well as smoke, vapors, and contaminated air, taking advantage of the vertical extraction effect to maintain continuous and efficient air circulation.
The combination of side ventilation and top extraction creates a continuous airflow that significantly improves the plant’s internal conditions.
Benefits Obtained
Implementing this solution offers multiple advantages for daily operations:
* Increased air renewal in production areas.
* Reduced heat buildup from roasters.
* Efficient smoke and vapor extraction.
* Improved comfort for operating personnel.
* Safer conditions for the production process.
Greater plant operating efficiency.

Engineering Applied to Industrial Processes
